Julian Pinkos

Julian Pinkos, 85, died peacefully at home in his sleep on the morning of Wednesday, April 23, 2025, after a 3-year battle with Cancer. Julian was the oldest of two children born to Stanislaus & Anna Pinkos on April 1, 1940 (but he would tell you March 32nd) in Long Beach, California.
Julian is survived by his wife Bernadette (married 62 years); daughter Lynne & husband Bob; son Steve & wife April; daughter Julie & husband Lance; 6 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren.
Julian entered the seminary in Missouri and spent 6 years there. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science while in the ROTC program at Villanova University. The same week, he married his bride, Bernadette, who also worked for the Navy, and went out to sea for active duty on a destroyer, the USS New.
Julian was in the Naval Reserves for 20 years while working his regular jobs. He moved to upstate New York where he worked for Sealright Company, from which he transferred with Phillips Petroleum to Kansas City, Missouri. Then he moved back east to State College, Pennsylvania where he worked in Human Resources for Murata Erie and JPM in Lewisburg. He then moved to Maine where he worked at Hussey Seating & Maine Printing/MPX & taught Faith Formation classes to youth at a local church.
His retirement jobs consisted of The USPS & Molly Trolley, when he wasn't walking the beach looking for sand dollars.
During his late retirement years, he took up the hobby of collecting data to fill in his ancestry tree. He also drafted a book about his childhood adventures as a Navy brat and lovingly titled it Dad's Ships. To his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and others, Julian was a treasured storyteller, continuing to share his cherished memories with his family until the very end of his days.
Julian loved God. He was friendly to all, & he had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
A Mass will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 1:00PM at St. Joseph's Church on Elm Street in Biddeford. A brief (15min) graveside Military Tribute will be held at the Southern Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Springvale on Wednesday, May 28th at 1:00PM.
