Lone Grove – A Celebration of Life services for Mr. Raymond "Ray" Melvin Stephens, aged 77, of Lone Grove, will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 25, 2025 at his residence in Lone Grove.  Cremation services are being handled by Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.


Raymond was born on August 18, 1948, in Abilene, Texas, to the late V.M. Stephens and Genva Sue (Hillin) Day. He passed away on October 17, 2025, at his home in Lone Grove.


Raised primarily in Fort Worth, Texas, Raymond married Cynthia Walker on May 27, 1966, at the Saginaw Baptist Church in Blue Mound, Texas. The couple established their home in Keller, where they remained for over 50 years, lovingly raising three children.


Throughout his career, Raymond worked as a lineman for many years and later transitioned to a career as a truck driver. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and a devoted Dale Earnhardt fan, often spending time at the Texas Motor Speedway. Additionally, he was a proud Dallas Cowboys supporter.


He is preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Ona Mae "Pete" Stephens; his stepfather, Homer Day; his grandson, Rebel Bright; his sister, Martha Crump; his brother, Kenneth Day; his father-in-law, Melvin Walker; and his sister-in-law, Linda Walker.


Raymond is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy, of the home; his daughters, Shelly Davoult and husband Daryl of Lone Grove; Mindy Mouton and husband Barry of Fort Worth, Texas; and Jeani Mulligan of Keller, Texas. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mickey Walker of Ardmore; his sisters, Shirley Grogan and husband James of Everman, Texas, and Donna Czarnik and husband Ben of Paradise, Texas; his sister-in-law, Jeani Walker and Ron; his brother-in-law, Larry Walker and wife Nita; along with 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family members.
