Raymond Charles "Chuck" "Charlie" Ryder passed away on October 19, 2023 in Hastings, Michigan at age 83. He was born on May 2, 1940 in Lowell, MI to Fred M Ryder and Emma June Read. Chuck attended Lowell High School and graduated in 1959, after holding many class office positions and memberships in various clubs. Chuck was an outstanding athlete and held many trophies in Track, Football and Basketball. He was a star football player and was being recruited by Michigan State University. Unfortunately, due to an injury, he was not able to play football and was also unable to participate in the Vietnam war, being turned away from basic training. Chuck was an avid picker, seller, collector, and haggler. He enjoyed shooting pool, golfing, and playing cards. Chuck started his career as a truck driver for Amway, the same company where his mother retired. His career progressed into manufacturing where he worked as an engineer and manager for many companies in West Michigan. In 1986 Chuck married (and is survived by) the love of his life Stacey Ryder (Reaser). Together they enjoyed a life filled with activities including flea marketing, home renovation, travel, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Per his wishes, cremation will take place and no service will be held.
