Raymond Howard "Ray" Shockley, Jr., 69, of Medford, NJ, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024. He is the beloved husband of Jean E. (nee Nash), loving father of Kevin Mole (Courtney), grandfather of Kellen and Christian Mole. Dear brother of Debi York (Scott), and uncle of Samantha York. Loving brother-in-law of Sandie Mole (Tom) and Craig Nash (Edie). Predeceased by his mother, Lori Laughlin, and father, Raymond Shockley. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Ray was a dedicated and brilliant attorney, graduating from Seton Hall University where he received his Doctor of Law degree. He began his career in private practice, eventually becoming a partner in two large law firms. He chose to leave private practice to become a staff attorney at the Chapter 13 Standing Trustee's Office, where he spent the remainder of his career until retirement. Ray was an avid writer of both poetry and short stories, and had a passion for photography. He was a genuine lover of all animals. In his spare time, he enjoyed kayaking and was a huge Beatles fan. He loved to travel and spend time with his wife. He will be sorely missed by his walking buddy, Ellie, and his lap-warming kitty, Sheesh.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 10 am until noon at the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055. A Memorial Service will be held at noon. Inurnment will follow in Parkview Cemetery Mausoleum at Kirby's Mill, 25 Fostertown Road, Medford, NJ 08055.

I had the pleasure of working with Ray many years ago. Through the years we have continued a pen pal type of friendship. His humor and kindness touched many. The world will be a little less brighter now that Ray is gone. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Jean and the family. Rest in peace old friend. Thanks for remembering me on every holiday!
