Raymond "Raheem" Smith Jr.

Raymond Smith Jr. "Raheem" was born February 11, 1961, to Mr. Raymond Smith, Sr., and the late Mrs. Arnella M. Prescott in Queens, New York.

Raheem believed in the Muslim faith.

He was educated in the New York School system. Raheem was employed as an electrician for most of his adult life until his employment by Cox Communications. After working many years at Cox Communications, he was employed by Leidos from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, he retired from Leidos due to health reasons.

Raheem united in Holy Matrimony to Carla Lewis on November 6, 2016.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, Raheem departed this life surrounded by loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Arnella M. Prescott; maternal grandparents, Mr. Raleigh Roy Edmonds and Mrs. Celeste Edmonds; paternal grandfather, Mr. Horace Smith; daughter, Miss Valentina Lashawna Smith; and sister, Miss Khadijah Celeste Smith.

Raheem's precious memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Mrs. Carla D. Smith; one son, Jamar Brown; two special sons, Malik Prescott and Nassar Smith; father, Mr. Raymond Smith, Sr.; two brothers, Michael Smith and Roy Anthony Smith; one sister, Walida Smith; three grandchildren, Imani Brown, Jontae' Smith, and Nasir Brown; nieces, Latia Smith, Amani Smith, and Nakara Richards; nephews, Shemar Smith, Robert Richards, Jr., Kareem Smith, Michael Smith, and Ramel Smith; goddaughters, Kenadi Roberson and Kali Roberson; special aunts, Gail and Lorraine; special uncle, Akbar Muhammad; special cousin, Samimah Aziz; and a host of relatives and close friends.
