Raymond Therrien Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright Funeral Home - Randolph on Mar. 9, 2025.
Raymond Lionel Therrien, of Norwood formerly of Brockton and Randolph, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on September 10, 1936, in Lowell, he was the beloved son of William and Blanche (Gendreau) Therrien and the foster son of Thomas and Mary Collins of Randolph. His life was a testament to his loving nature, wise counsel, and passionate spirit.
Raymond was the devoted husband of Rosalie (Gorgone) Therrien, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. During their 59 years of marriage, they built a family foundation of support and kindness, which he extended to his children and grandchildren. He was a proud father to Raymond T. Therrien of Taunton, Laura Waxman and her husband Jeff of Sharon, and Jill Robertson and her husband Brian of Westwood. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment with his grandchildren, Chase and Zack Waxman of Sharon, and Cole and Dylan Robertson of Westwood. He was the caring Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was also the devoted brother to Sr.Theresa Therrien of Biddeford, ME, Joseph Therrien of KS, and the late Antoinette Therrien, Rita Grady, Henri Therrien, Edgar Therrien, Rose Therrien, Patricia Cechvala and Leo Therrien.
After graduating from Brockton Trade School, Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Navy including time on the USS Randolph during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On his return from the military, he embarked on a career that would not only define his professional life but also showcase his entrepreneurial spirit. He owned and operated RLT Enterprises, owned an appliance sales and service company for 20 years in Brockton and Whitman. He later became a HVAC contractor, where his hard work, dedication, and expertise were well-known within the industry and among his clients. He was not only a businessman but also a mentor, sharing his knowledge with those who worked alongside him.
Raymond's zest for life was evident in his personal pursuits as well. He and his wife had a passion for travel and went on many trips together. He enjoyed scuba diving, boating and sky diving. He found his true passion at the age of 65, when he achieved a lifelong dream by obtaining his pilot's license, an accomplishment that spoke to his adventurous heart and his belief that it's never too late to keep learning and growing. His love for flying was more than a hobby it was a symbol of his desire to soar to new heights, both literally and figuratively.
Those who knew Raymond will remember him as a man of great character. Loving by nature, he provided a warm and welcoming presence that made everyone feel at home. His wisdom was a guiding light for his family and friends, offering sound advice and thoughtful insights that will be deeply missed. His passion for life was contagious, inspiring others to live fully and embrace each day with enthusiasm.
Raymond's memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his influence will continue to be felt through the values he instilled in his family. A man of integrity and honor, Raymond will be remembered as an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
