Raymond Valus Obituary
Raymond J. Valus passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 87.
A longtime resident of Norwalk, he was born in Bridgeport on February 4, 1938, the son of the late John and Margaret (Kerekes) Valus.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Janet and their two sons, Michael and his predeceased wife Gail and son Jeffrey and his wife Deborah. He has two grandsons, Michael and his wife Danielle and Tyler; as well as two sister in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Rita and his two brothers; Richard and John.
Raymond attended Danbury State Teachers College (WCSU), 1955-1959, and obtained his Masters of Science in Education in 1965 from the University of Bridgeport. He was an educator for over 35 years teaching at St. Luke's and East School in New Canaan.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 17, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mathew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to a youth scholarship program of your choice.
