Raymond G. Wochna, a beloved family man and friend, passed away on November 8, 2025. Born on October 26, 1958, in Jersey City, NJ, Raymond was a man of remarkable intellect, quick wit, and genuine warmth. His presence filled every room with kindness, laughter, and light. He will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Raymond's early years in Jersey City laid the foundation for the man he became, curious, thoughtful, and endlessly creative. It was there that he developed the passions that would remain with him throughout his life. In 1997, Raymond and his family made their home in Marlboro NJ, where he built a life rooted in love, faith, and community.
Professionally, Raymond was a brilliant electrical engineer and computer scientist, who worked within various sectors in the industry as a top consultant. His work was far more than a career, it was a true calling. Driven by his passion for science, physics, technology, engineering, and mathematics, he approached every challenge with precision, curiosity, and a deep sense of purpose.
Outside of his professional life, Raymond was an accomplished, self-taught guitarist and pianist who often played simply for the joy of creating music. A voracious reader and lifelong learner, he had an intelligence that was only matched by his humor and generosity. His faith was also an integral part of his life, and he cherished the community and spiritual nourishment he found at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church in Matawan.
He found deep fulfillment in composing his own melodies, running, golfing, and spending time with his two daughters, whom he adored and were truly his world. There was nothing he would not do for them or for his beloved wife, whose happiness meant everything to him. It was his role as a family man that truly defined him. To him, family was not just a priority, it was everything. As a devoted husband to his wife, Maria, he stood as a pillar of strength, love, and kindness. He was an adoring father to Erika and Caitlin, and a supportive father-in-law to Boris. His family always knew that no matter what, he was always available to listen, encourage, and guide with patience and love.
Raymond's devotion extended to his mother, Sheila, his brother, Joseph, his nephew, Stephen, and his niece, Lindsay. He was also a cherished brother-in-law to Michele and Deborah, and her husband Frank. His many loving cousins and friends will forever hold dear the laughter, stories, and memories they shared with him.
Raymond was predeceased by his father, Raymond, his sister, Theresa, and his dear dog, Toby. An extraordinary husband, father, and family man, Raymond's genius, humor, and selflessness left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been part of his life forever.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Waitt Funeral Home, 501 HWY 79, Morganville, NJ 07751.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 12:00pm at St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, 172 Freneau Avenue, Matawan, NJ 07747.
A Graveside Burial will follow at St Gabriel's Cemetery, 549 Newman Springs Road, Marlboro, NJ 07746.
