An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, Ray served his country proudly from 1975 until 1979. After his military service, Ray worked for the NJ Veterans Home in Edison where he retired as a boiler operator.
He enjoyed collected model trains and was an avid salt-water fisherman.
Just hours after Ray's death, his only sister Kathleen Haines of Rahway also passed away. He was also joined in heaven by his wife Cynthia who died May 2024.
Ray leaves behind his only daughter Veronica of Laurence Harbor and his nephew Craig Haines of Rahway.
A visitation will be held at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751 on Thursday, November 6, 2025, beginning at 6:00 pm. Military honors will conclude Ray's services at 7:45 p.m.
At the request of Ray, cremation will be private, and he will then be laid to rest with his wife Cynthia.
