With hearts full of love and sorrow, we celebrate the life of Reagan Rochelle Waldrip, who passed away on October 20, 2025, at Clements Hospital in Dallas, Texas, after a courageous and lengthy battle with Neurofibromatosis Type 2. She was 28 years old.
Born on May 9, 1997, Reagan was a bright light whose strength, independence, and determination inspired everyone who knew her. Fierce in all she did, she faced life's challenges with extraordinary grace and courage, never allowing obstacles to define her spirit. She was unwavering in her belief in her dreams and lived each day with purpose and faith. Those who knew Reagan often described her as unique-a beautiful soul who walked her own path with confidence, creativity, and heart.
A 2015 graduate of Andrews High School, Reagan was deeply involved in academics and the arts. She was a proud member of the marching band and jazz band, where she loved playing the saxophone. Her creativity also shone through her art, and she advanced to the VASE State Competition with her unique and expressive work. An exceptional student, Reagan competed in UIL math, science, and computer science events, always driven by her love of learning.
Reagan went on to attend Texas State University, where she was pursuing a degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Computer Science. Her goal was to work in medical research to help fight Neurofibromatosis Type 2-the very disease she battled with such courage. A lifelong learner and lover of science, Reagan often found ways to weave scientific concepts into her sculptures and sketches, blending intellect and artistry in remarkable ways.
Reagan is survived by her loving mother and stepfather, Christi and Jason Watson; her sister and brother, Zoey and Travis Watson; her grandmother, Patsy Beard; and her beloved hedgehog, Harper. She also leaves behind a host of family members and friends who will forever cherish her warmth, wit, and strength. She was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Waldrip; her grandparents, Bonnie and Jim Waldrip; and her grandfather, Monte Beard.
In keeping with her lifelong commitment to learning and helping others, Reagan's body was accepted into the Willed Body Program of UT Southwestern, contributing to the advancement of medical research and education-a fitting legacy for someone who spent her life passionately pursuing knowledge and hope for a cure.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews, Texas, on Monday, November 3rd, from 6:00–8:00 PM. This will be a time for family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate Reagan's remarkable life together.
Though her time on earth was far too short, Reagan's courage, compassion, and fierce, unique spirit will continue to shine through the countless lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, please donate to NF2 BioSolutions at https://donorbox.org/reagan-waldrip
