Sherry York Norvell, a beacon of kindness and unwavering love, left this world for a peaceful rest on October 18, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. Born on January 10, 1965, in Morton, TX, Sherry's life was a testament to the joy and warmth that she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
Sherry was the beloved wife of the late Terry Wesley Norvell, and together they raised a family that became her pride and joy. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Andy Dean Norvell and Jeremiah Norvell, both of Andrews, TX, and her daughter, Kisty Ann Norvell, also of Andrews, TX. Sherry's love extended to her siblings, Randy York of Chandler, TX, Gary York of Andrews, TX, and Terry York and his wife Annabelle of Andrews, TX; her sister, Tammy Orman and her husband Timothy of Neosho, MO; and her sister, Francine Barrett and her husband Faron of Kerrville, TX. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through her cherished grandchildren, Jade and Kolten Norvell.
Sherry was greeted in heaven by her sister Cindy Harvey, brothers Rickey York and Lenny York, and her parents Carl Dean York and Dolly Ann Hobbs. These reunions, though bittersweet for those she left behind, are a comfort to those who believe she is now in the company of angels.
A faithful Christian, Sherry lived her beliefs through her actions, embodying the grace and compassion taught by her faith. She found joy in the simplicity of life-taking walks, fishing with an infectious enthusiasm, and sharing moments of humor, even if it meant playfully arguing with her brother Gary. Sherry's love for investigator mystery shows and "The Price is Right" were well-known, as was her laughter that echoed during each episode.
Sherry carried a quiet warmth that left an impression on those around her. Though gentle in presence, her care for others ran deep, especially for those closest to her. She brought lightness to a room with her sense of humor and had a way of making people feel seen. Those who knew her, even briefly, will remember her grace, her easy laughter, and the quiet strength she carried. Her presence will be missed, but her spirit lingers in the hearts she touched.
As we bid farewell to Sherry, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the love we continue to give, just as she taught us. Sherry York Norvell walked this earth for sixty years, and the beauty of her spirit will linger for eternity.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at McNett Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Andrews North Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Leslie Boone.
