Rebecca “Becky” Nelson Bodurtha, 78, of Mathews, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Riverside Regional Medical Center. Becky loved to do weekend yard sales and thrift stores with her “bestie” and neighbor of 47 years, Barbara Brown.
Becky was with her school sweetheart, William “Billy” Bodurtha for 7 years, and then married in 1968; Together they had three children, Vicky B. Pruitt, John Bodurtha (Mary Lou) and William Nelson Bodurtha, his wife and two children. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Travis Wyatt, Caleb Wyatt, Meghan Pruitt; great-grandsons, Michael Wyatt and Cayson Bivins; sisters-in-laws, Nancy Higginbotham, Cathy Rowe, and Jodie Nelson; nieces and nephews, Jody Nelson Emerson, Bill Nelson, David Nelson, Brent Nelson, Jennifer Vannoy, Brian Nelson, Terry Nelson, Jr. Kelly Dutton, Jennifer Ledford, Joseph Rowe, Benjamin Rowe and Hannah Yarkey.
The family will have a gathering on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews.
