Beloved Rebecca (“Becky”) Lynn Butt passed away Tuesday Afternoon on October 1, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Known for her extraordinary compassion and love for those around her; Rebecca is someone to be remembered.
Becky was born on November 30, 1956 to Harold and Emma Blakley (Bessire) in Anson, Texas. She attended highschool in Cortez, Colorado where she met the love of her life, Eric Leon Butt. The two got married in Cortez, Colorado on October 21, 1972 and later remarried in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) temple during the year of 1980 in Mesa, Arizona. During this time, the two had 3 children between the years of 1973-1979. They had one daughter who was the youngest, named Hope Conover, preceded by Chris Butt, then Eric Butt who remains the eldest. The three grew up in Cortez, later moving to Salt Lake City Utah, where Becky and her husband were residing.
During Becky's stay in Utah; she received a job at Hudson Printing in 1998, where she created many core memories and friendships. Becky loved to help her coworkers out and enjoyed planning company parties/get-togethers. Eventually retiring in 2022, Becky continued to help out by supporting her neighbors and by volunteering for her local communities HOA. She loved to spend time with her grandkids and enjoyed seeing them at any opportunity she got.
She is survived by her loving Husband, Eric Butt; her children, Eric Jr. Butt, Chris Butt and Hope Conover; alongside her grandchildren, Kade Butt, Caleb Conover, Sage Butt, Tatum Conover, Luke Butt, Taylor Butt, Payton Butt and Cooper Butt. May she rest in peace, having lived a fulfilling and loving life.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, in Cortez, Colorado at the Empire church location. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery.
