Rebecca Ruth "Becky" Carr

Rebecca Ruth "Becky" Carr, 49, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. Perhaps her transition was made easier as she was surrounded by her loving and devoted family. This day was the same day her beloved grandmother, Mrs. Pauline Chitwood, was born. We can only imagine the glad reunion in Heaven.
Becky was born on August 26, 1975, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Bro. S. David Carr and Gwen Chitwood Carr of Somerset, Kentucky. A graduate of Temple Christian Academy, she excelled as a skilled finance business manager in the automotive industry for many years. She became well-known for her exceptional capability in Lexington, Kentucky, and had many opportunities in other states, including her favorite, Miramar Beach, Florida, where she and her fiancé, Stephen, and her family worked and played together. A devoted Baptist, Becky embraced life with enthusiasm, finding joy in travel, beach outings, jet skiing, fitness, and her exceptional culinary talents. Vibrant and loving, she was the sister everyone cherished and the daughter who brought boundless pride and joy to her family. She was a dedicated mother, wholeheartedly supporting her children by attending their games and cheerleading competitions. As their devoted "Be-Be," she stopped at nothing to ensure her grandchildren received the best care and all her loving attention. Known for her loving, caring, and kind-hearted nature, Becky left an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories: her loving parents, Bro. S. David Carr and Gwen Chitwood Carr of Somerset; her fiancé and primary caregiver, Stephen Snell of Somerset, Kentucky; two sons, Austin (Lauren) Bledsoe of Lexington, Kentucky, and Matthew (Lindsay) Slusher of Lake Herrington, Kentucky; two daughters, Kayla Carr of Lexington, Kentucky, and Brooklyn Bledsoe of Somerset; a brother, Justin (Jeanie) Carr of Erwin, Tennessee; a sister, Rachel (Nathan) Lange of Science Hill, Kentucky; and six grandchildren, Emersyn, Blakely, Claire, Thomas, Luci, and Linden, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. S. David Carr officiating. Interment will be in the West Somerset Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Active Pallbearers will be Justin Carr, Austin Bledsoe, Jimmy Dan Carroll, Matthew Slusher, Nathan Lange, and Keenan Lange.
