Rebecca Holmes Carson, 65, beloved wife of Kit Carson, of Kingstree, SC, died peacefully at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer on October 4, 2025.
Rebecca was born December 27, 1959, in Augusta, Georgia and grew up in Johnston, SC on a peach farm. She was the daughter of the late Fred Morris and Helen Harrison Holmes. She was a graduate of Wardlaw Academy and University of South Carolina.
While living in Charleston for twenty- five years, she was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. After moving to Kingstree, she attended the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
Rebecca’s kind soul was reflected by her love of family and friends, family trips to the beach, gardening, her beloved pets, and shopping for unique gifts for her home.
Rebecca is survived by her husband, Kit Carson, brothers Fred (Nancy) Holmes of Lexington, SC; John (Pam) Holmes of Graniteville, SC; and sister Anne (Kim) Sidey of Aiken, SC. She was pre-deceased by her parents and brother Edmund Holmes.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 10, 2025 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 856 W. Main Street, Central, SC.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your local animal shelter.
