Rebecca Ward "Lynn" Hoggard

Rebecca Ward "Lynn" Hoggard, aged 51, of Ahoskie, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC. Born on November 4, 1973, in Ahoskie, she lived a life dedicated to her family and filled with love, warmth, and cherished memories.

Lynn took pride in her role as a homemaker within her own home, where her nurturing spirit and love for her family flourished. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and a friend to many. She found joy in life's simple pleasures: relishing good food, listening to music, and enjoying her favorite drink, Mt. Dew.

Preceding her in death are her beloved husband, Sidney Earl Hoggard, Jr., her brother, Billy Ward, and her parents, Ray and Margie Davenport Ward.

Lynn's legacy continues through her children: Sabrina Smith (James Forehand III) of Powellsville, Woody Smith (Jasmine Forehand) of Aulander, and Shane Smith of Elizabeth City. She was the proud grandmother to cherished grandchildren: Leigha Lineberger, Xavier, Kobe, and Izabella Forehand, Nolan, Colton, and Conner Smith, with excitement surrounding the imminent arrival of twins, Dalton Alexander Smith and Dustin Matthew Smith. Lynn is also fondly remembered by her extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, NC. A celebration of Lynn's life will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service Chapel, Ahoskie, NC. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square, NC.
