Rebecca Newsome Inabinet

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rebecca Newsome Inabinet, who passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, at her home in Georgetown, KY, at the age of 73.
Becky was born on October 10th, 1951 in Hartsville, South Carolina to David Newsome Sr. and Miriam Newsome. She lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Becky was a proud graduate of Hartsville High School (1969) and Winthrop College (1973), where she earned a degree in Elementary Education.
On November 27th, 1974, Becky married the love of her life, Thomas E. Inabinet (Tom). Friends will witness that their connection was electric and it was love at first sight. Together, they built a beautiful life. Their unwavering love and commitment served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Becky was a devoted mother to her three children, Ward, Becca, and Brooke. She poured her heart and soul into raising her children, always providing them with unconditional love, support, and guidance. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her eight grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for many years to come.
Becky was a 4th grade elementary teacher for 25 years. She created a loving environment for her students to learn that included structure and organization. She created a special connection with many of her students that extended well past their year in her classroom.
She and her husband Tom were active members of Lexington United Methodist Church (Lexington, SC), Northside Baptist Church (West Columbia, SC), and Southland Christian Church (Georgetown, KY). She committed many hours of service packing lunches and backpacks for local school children in both Lexington and the Amen House in Georgetown.
After moving to Georgetown, she formed great friendships with their small group from Southland Church and also became a part of the "Patio Girls" group in their neighborhood.
Becky's family includes her husband, Tom Inabinet; her children, Ward Inabinet (spouse Kelly), Rebecca Dearolph (spouse Jacob), and Brooke Veal (spouse Blaine); her grandchildren, Claire and Preston Inabinet, Carter June, Katie Mae Dearolph, and Eden Abigail Dearolph, Ridley, Sage, and Sullivan Veal (preceded in death); and her five siblings: David Jr. Newsome, Dan Newsome, Joy Owens, Susan Martin, and Timmy Newsome.
A memorial service to celebrate Becky's life will be held March 1st at Tucker, Yocum, and Wilson Funeral Home with a visitation starting a 1 pm and a service with fellowship to follow starting at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, Becky requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
