CORDELE - Rebecca Deneitra Jackson, age 42, of Cordele, passed away on Monday evening, December 30, 2024, at Crisp Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive friends before the service, starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
Rebecca was born in Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, James Scott Pounds; her father-in-law, Tommy Jackson; and her brother-in-law, Mitchell Jackson.
Rebecca had a passion for history and loved spending her free time working, gardening, reading, and cooking. She was an avid read and known for her deep love of animals. Above all, she loved her husband and her family very much.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Jackson of Arabi, Georgia; her children, Sierra Jackson of Dexter, Jasmine Jackson of Fitzgerald, Savannah Jackson of Marietta, and Ty Jackson of Marietta; her mother, Martha Burnett of Marietta; her father, Richard Gordon of Roswell; and her grandmother, Marge Burnett of South Carolina.
Rebecca also leaves behind her siblings, Major Eric Little and his wife, Remza, of Hawaii; David Gruber of Alpharetta; Shannon Whitley of Alpharetta; Cheyenne McCormick of Alabama; and D.J. Gruber of Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Leelend Jackson and Adalynn Jackson; her nephews, Rayder Jackson and John Allen Shedd; and her nieces, Ariella Little and Emma Jackson. Additional survivors include her father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Charlotte Simmons, her sisters-in-law, Nicki Shedd and her husband, John, and Tonya Jackson; her brothers-in-law, Tyler Jackson and Adam Mixon; her mother-in-law, Tracy Jackson; her step-mother, Elizabeth Cox; as well as her aunt, Susan Lowe.
Rebecca will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
