Rebecca "Becky" Sherman Johnson, who was born on September the 22nd of 1963, departed this world on the 8th of April, 2025. Her life, though marked by extensive battles with congenital heart disease and cancer, was one of vibrancy, light, and fierce positivity. She shines brightly still to all who knew her as a beacon of inspiration, reminding us to live with gratitude and within the moment before us. She was, as her son so perfectly put it, a truly special person who was easy to love and gave it back without question.

Becky was adopted by her biological maternal grandparents Maize and Jerry Sherman, who she knew as Mom and Dad. She dances freely now in heaven alongside them, her treasured son Christopher Erik, her biological mother Patti and father Kenny Bishop, her two brothers Kenneth and Paul, and Juneau – Jen's guardian angel who she too loved.

From there, she watches now over her husband and soul mate John whose love for her was and is the definition of devotion, her cherished son Johnny whom she adores beyond measure, and her chosen daughter (daughter in law) Jen who she welcomed with warmth and loved with her whole heart.

In addition, Becky loved and is survived by a community of family and friends that spans the globe. John frequently joked that Becky didn't have a family tree, but a family bush! A Melbourne girl to her heart, Becky is descended from the Goode family, one of the original pioneer settlers of the Melbourne and Palm Bay area of Florida. As a Sherman, she is survived by her brothers Alex and Richard as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews – all of whom absolutely adored her. As a Johnson, she is survived not only by her two "boys" John and Johnny but by her "bonus" family that saw her not as an "in-law" but as a daughter, sister, and aunt. She is deeply missed by friends and family found everywhere from the Bahamas to the UK to Sweden to her favorite spots in Key West.

There are no words adequate to fully describe Becky, who was a great force and made the world and those in it better simply by being herself. She loved deeply and seemingly without reservation. She honored her relationship with God by treating others with compassion and grace. She was often honest in her suffering without being despondent, making others feel both seen in their struggles and encouraged to continue through them. She leaned into the good moments and did not allow the bad ones to rob her of her faith. She was, and is, a deeply cherished being who will never truly be gone from those who love her.
