A. Jane Johnson

Jane Johnson, 90, of Wadesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 19, 2025 at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, Indiana. Jane was born June 24, 1935, to Edmond and Elsie (Eakins) Rutledge in Stewartsville, Indiana, She graduated from Wadesville High School in 1953 and was crowned Centennial beauty queen of Wadesville in 1952. Jane was the Postmaster of Griffin, Indiana for 34 years from 1958 to 1993. She was a member of the Wadesville Christian Church and a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees, (NARFE). She was past chair for the National Alzheimer's Association for NARFE. Surviving is her husband Paul E. Johnson; son: Jeff Rodgers (Carol); step children: Pat (Kathy) Johnson, Gina Johnson, David Johnson; sister: Sara Gibbs; brother: Steve Rutledge (Judy); grandchildren Ryan Rodgers (Brittney) and Jennifer Collins (Randy); step grandchildren: Megan Johnson, Patrick Johnson; 7 great grandchildren; Arionna Wenderoth (Emmit), Adyn Collins, Avery Collins, Karlee Rodgers, Dawson Rodgers, Aspen Rodgers and Zach Otake; one great great grandchild: Alma Wenderoth along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and Sister Virginia "Jenny" Wenderoth. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Indiana with burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery near Wadesville, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the funeral home.
