Rebecca Landgraf Obituary

Rebecca "Becky" S. Landgraf, 74, of Jackson, passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Becky's passing was exactly 13 years after her mom, June, passed away.
Born October 14, 1951, Becky was the second child of Robert W. "Bob" Sr. and Alice June "Nunie" (Reisenbichler) Landgraf. She was raised in Pocahontas, where she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Becky was a very special little girl with unique needs. Her parents were very committed to making Becky's life a memorable journey. Through her father's service as a 4-H leader and 35 years as president of the Cape County Board for the Handicapped Facilities, he was also able to improve the quality of Becky's life and the lives of many other special people. Becky was a graduate of the Parkview State School in Cape Girardeau and worked nearly 40 years with friends at VIP Industries, first in Cape Girardeau and later in Jackson. She also enjoyed competing in The Special Olympics and was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. After the passing of Bob and June, her brother, Robert, and his family dedicated their lives to caring for her and she was able to experience some new things.
Not long ago, when Becky had an extended stay in the hospital. Every day, she would tell the nurses it was her birthday. She loved the attention because nearly every day, at least one nurse would bring her a balloon for her birthday. Becky liked to study people, learn to know them, and appreciate their friendship. This characteristic lent itself well while living at the Lutheran Home. She even learned how to play her cards right. If she declined to eat her meal, a caring staff member would get concerned and eventually offer her ice cream or chocolate pudding. Certainly, she enjoyed her residence there because she was able to be around people.
Lastly, Becky had a special affection for many lapdogs she had through the years. And she was contagiously enthusiastic about every holiday, but Christmas was her favorite. She loved to decorate, listen to Christmas music, and wear Christmas themed clothing. She will certainly be missed.
To cherish her memory, she leaves a brother, Robert Jr. (late Jane) Landgraf of Jackson; nieces and nephews, Robert III (Mary) Landgraf; Nicole DuBois; Elijah (Amanda) Landgraf; and Amanda (Mike) LaBrier, all of Jackson; great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and an infant niece, Carolinae Emilie Landgraf.
Arrangements are Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, with visitation at 10 a.m. The Rev. Virgil Kelm will conduct the funeral service at 11:30 a.m., and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Becky's care was entrusted to McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests Zion Lutheran Cemetery or The Special Olympics
