In Loving Memory of Becky Leggett
September 28, 1954 – October 8, 2025Rebecca Jean Leggett, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.
Born on September 28, 1954, in Allegan, Michigan, Becky lived a life full of laughter, compassion, and unwavering love. From a young age, she had a deep connection to animals and the outdoors. As a proud member of 4-H, she found joy in riding and showing horses — a passion that reflected her gentle heart, patience, and devotion to caring for others. After graduating from high school in 1973, Becky attended classes at KVCC before beginning her career at GreenStone Farm Credit Services, where she worked for many years. Seeking something more meaningful, she later began a second career at Arbor Circle, where she found true purpose in helping others through her clerical work in the mental health field. She cared deeply for her coworkers, earning the title “Mom of the Allegan office.” Many current and former employees became part of her extended family.
Becky attended the Allegan First Church of God for many years, where she faithfully served as treasurer, board member, and youth leader in her younger years. Her relationship with Christ was the cornerstone of her life. She loved like Jesus — fully, freely, and without judgment — and her faith shone through in every word and deed. Becky’s strength, kindness, and wisdom made her a mentor to many, and her quiet service reflected the heart of someone deeply rooted in God’s love. She was known for her bright spirit, honesty, and her ability to make everyone feel valued. Her laughter — warm and contagious — could fill any room and lift any heart. Becky found joy in life’s simple moments: sharing stories, spending time with loved ones, and finding light even in difficult times.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur “Red” and Mary (Weaver) Leggett, and her siblings, Rodney "Rod" Leggett and Christine "Chris" Leggett-Meade.She is survived by her niece Sarah Leggett-Meade; nephews Jamie (Mary) Leggett, Jason (Jamie) Leggett, and Mitchell (Nicole) Meade; and many great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved “adopted family” who adored her. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Michael Meade, sister-in-law Nanette "Nan" Leggett, and cousin Karen Golliver — each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Becky is now reunited with her family, loved ones and her Charlie dog who went before her — sharing stories and laughter as bright and joyful as her spirit here on earth.A celebration of Becky’s life will be held on November 8th at Allegan First Church of God, 1313 Marshall St. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a service at 12:00 p.m. followed by a luncheon. Pastor Tim Secord will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her life with love, laughter, and gratitude for the faith-filled legacy she leaves behind.
Memorials may be made to the Allegan First Church of God for the Building Fund.Though she may be gone from sight, Becky’s spirit remains — in every sunrise over an open field, in every act of kindness, and in every heart she touched with the love of Jesus.
“Her laughter still echoes, her love still surrounds,And her faith will forever light our way.”
