She lived a life dedicated to her family, and the many friends who were fortunate to know her. Becky embodied warmth and kindness making all who crossed her path feel loved and welcomed. Throughout her life, Becky held various positions, including accounts payable at Jason’s Deli in Beaumont, a receptionist at the Holiday Inn in Port Arthur, and a staff member at Dillards at Central Mall. She also cherished family time, engaged in crocheting, and enjoyed watching classic western movies. Additionally, she delighted in preparing meals for her family, particularly her boys, who will deeply miss her goulash, a dish that she alone could only make. No one could make it like mama did. Becky will be remembered as a person who could light up any room she entered.
Survived by her sons, Shawn Messer of San Antonio, Chad Messer of Orange, Jeremy Messer and his wife Lisa of San Antonio and Eric Messer and his wife Rachel of Port Arthur. Each of her sons carried forward lessons of love and compassion that she instilled in them. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life, Shane (Jessica), Kami, Trinity, Mathew, Alicia, Ashlee, William, Kylie, Sierra (Abe), Stephen, and Gabe. Additionally, she felt great pride in being a great grandmother to eight great grandchildren who filled her heart with happiness. Also four nieces and one nephew and multiple other great nieces.
She will be especially missed by her baby as we all know and those that knew her. Her beloved dog Cricket and her cat Gabby. Becky was also blessed to have a close relationship with her siblings, including her sister Beverly McKeever of Austin and her brother Ricky Mckeever and his wife Carol of Nederland. Their shared memories and experiences remain a source of comfort and connection.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Wilmer Trahan Junior, whose memory will forever be cherished. Her parents, Courtney “Bud” and Naomi Mckeever, as well as her brother Michael Dwayne Mckeever, have also passed, leaving a void that Becky filled with love during her lifetime.
Rebecca Gayle Mckeever Trahan will be remembered not only for the love she shared within her family, but also for the warmth she extended to those around her. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. We love you Mom…..
