Rebecca Abaline Wilson, age 74 of Clayton, Ga., passed away on Feb. 19, 2025.
Rebecca was born Feb. 16, 1951, in Rabun County, Ga., to the late Marvin Roper and Margaret Louise Moore Wilson.
In her early life, Rebecca was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, known throughout her community for her gentle spirit and deep faith. Rebecca loyally worshiped at both Tabernacle Baptist Church and Battle Branch Baptist Church. She was a talented and passionate seamstress, lovingly sewing clothes for her daughters and crafting many of their toys by hand.
Later in life, Rebecca was diagnosed with a severe case of multiple sclerosis, which left her bedfast for over 35 years. Despite her physical struggles, she radiated the light and love of her Lord. Her faith in Jesus was unwavering, serving as a profound inspiration to all who knew her. Though her condition could have defeated many, she embraced it as an opportunity to deepen her faith. Not once did she complain. Instead, she ensured that everyone in her presence felt truly loved - both by her and by Jesus.
Rebecca always believed that God would heal her, and today, she is finally restored. She is rejoicing in Heaven, reunited with her God and loved ones who passed before her. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, they are also full of peace, knowing she is walking again - this time, down streets of gold.
In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her step-father, Frank Wilson; sister, Gloria Roper; and son-in-law, Tim Kilby
She is survived by her children, Christy Speed, Tammy Kilby, and Janie Armour (Tim); brother, Frank Wilson; grandchildren, Stella Matis (Andrew), Nevel Kilby, Kristi Goodwin (Matthew), Trent Kilby (Heath), and Tucker Kilby; and great-grandchildren, Avarie Goodwin and Beau Goodwin.
A receiving of family and friends will be held 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lakemont with a memorial service at 3 p.m. following the visitation.
