Reed Alan Marshall, 69, of Hague, VA (formally of Cleghorn, IA) passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 21, 1956, in Sioux County, IA to the late Robert Lewis Marshall and Ruby Irene (Diercksen) Marshall.
Reed was married to Gail (Brooks) Marshall for 22 years. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and family gatherings.
Reed was a devoted family man, a skilled mechanic, and a faithful friend to all who knew him. He was a firm believer that with a little time, patience, and the right tools, you could fix anything. He received several awards as Top Salesman nationally for Dixon lawn mowers. He was often considered the lawn mower whisperer for his abilities to turn junk into other people's treasure. He was locally known as "that guy with the stinky bait that catches all the catfish!"
Reed is survived by his wife Gail, son's Luke (Trish) Marshall of Minford, OH, and Bill (Jennifer) Marshall of Boone, IA, daughters Amanda (Brock) Marshall Sisson of Eagle Grove, IA, Kiersten Marshall of LeMars, IA, Rebecca (Garry) Beale of Oldhams,VA, Clara Beale, and Sara Beale of Hague, VA, 15 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Bart (Lorraine) Marshall of Hawarden, IA, Jim (Leslie) Marshall of Sioux City, IA, and Barb Keehn of Hawarden, IA.
Reed was preceded in death by his son Jonathan, and grandson Joey.
A Celebration of Reed's life will take place on Thursday, November 6th at 1:00pm, at Carmel United Methodist Church - 5729 Sandy Point Rd, Kinsale, VA, after which he will be interred next to his family in the Carmel Church Cemetery.
