Baue Funeral Home - Cave SpringsReesa Lynne Varone (nee Maxey), of Wentzville, MO, passed away at the age of 76 on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren. Cherished daughter of the late Patricia Jeanette and Robert Wayne Maxey; devoted mother of Joseph Craig (Candace) Varone, Andrea Lynne (Pablo) Varone, and Laura DeMay Varone; loving grandmother of Kody (Cortney) Varone, Adriana Soto, Chelsea Varone, Javier (Madi) Soto, Taylor (Logan) Mullinax, Isaac Soto, and Jacob Kirkpatrick; treasured great-grandmother of Jackson Varone and Levi Varone; dear sister of William Bradford (JoAnn) Maxey, the late Robert Wayne Maxey and sister-in-law Kathy Maxey; beloved aunt, cousin and friend. Reesa is also survived Fermin Soto; Adriana, Javier, and Isaac's father.
Reesa was born in West Lafayette, Indiana, and attended Ohio State University before eventually planting her roots in St. Charles, Missouri. Reesa later attended Florissant Valley Community College, where she studied Chemical Technology, and built a career that included serving as an environmental chemical technician and most recently worked as an intake specialist at Haymon Law Office.
A lifelong sports fan, Reesa loved cheering for her St. Louis Cardinals and her beloved Mizzou Tigers - rarely missing a game. She captured her spirit best in her own words on social media: “My life is simple – it is my family, my 8 (now 9) grandkids! Enjoy cooking, the Cardinals & Mizzou!”
Those who knew her will remember her gift for cooking, her witty sense of humor, and her role as the matriarch - the counselor and glue - of a loving family. Reesa was a Christian woman of faith who knew Jesus Christ as her Savior, and her life reflected love and devotion to her family.
Arrangements: Services will be held Saturday, October 11, at First St. Charles United Methodist Church, 801 First Capitol Dr., St. Charles, Missouri. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, followed by a service at Noon. Memorials in Reesa’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
