He attended St. Cletus Grade School, Duchesne High School and graduated from Truman State University with a Masters Degree in accounting then earning his CPA. Matt was a member of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity where he made a group of lifelong friends.
He was employed by Price Waterhouse Coopers and moved up the corporate ladder to become a partner. While working for them he traveled all over the world. He spent 3 months in Ireland followed by 3 years in London. While living overseas he visited all of Europe. When his London posting was finished he traveled all over Asia. His love of travel continued as he visited Australia, New Zealand, and went on an African Safari. He made friends all over the world. He attended a friend's wedding in Brazil and visited friends in Costa Rica. It was his dream to visit all continents. The only continent he didn't make it to was Antarctica. His home is beautifully decorated with photos from all of his travels.
Matt was an avid sports fan. He shared season tickets to the St. Louis Cardinals and then to the St. Louis City SC soccer team games with his close friends.
Matt was very involved in charity work. He served on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including the Independence Center, United Way Greater St. Louis, Truman State Accounting Advisory Board and the UMSL Accounting Advisory Board.
