East Bend-Ms. Regina "Gina" Diane Compton, 55, of Butner Mill Road, passed away, Saturday, December 30th, in a Galax, VA hospital surrounded by her 3 loving sons.
She was born on January 1, 1968, to Jerry Dean Compton and Doris Merrill "Combs" Standen in Welch, WV.
Gina was a loving, caring, and giving soul who always saw the best in everyone. She lit up a room when she entered and was the life of the party everywhere she went. Even on one of her worst days, she still made her boys laugh with her reaction to a sip of Grape Crush. She was spontaneous and loved the open roads, those rides were best with music up loud and the windows down. She had a heart of pure gold. She was selfless and forgiving. She was also the person you could tell anything to and know she would always have your back. She loved the beach, fishing and collecting shells at sunrise. She was an avid collector of lighthouses and made the best banana pudding of anyone around. She was happiest when she was with her kids, grandkids, and family. She loved them deeply and treasured every moment with them. Wonderful family times with her will always be remembered and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Gina was preceded in Death by her Dad, Jerry Compton, her sisters Jerri Sue Shumate (Johnny), and Deanna Marie DeFrank (Martin).
Those left to cherish her memory are her Mom, Doris Standen of Fancy Gap, Va; her Step-Mom Sandra Compton of East Bend, NC; her Sons Brandon Compton (Martha) of Lewisville, NC; Jason Compton of East Bend, NC and Greg Hurt of Winston-Salem, NC. Her Sisters, Debbie Marshall (Jimmy) of King, NC; Cyndi Shrewsbury (Glen) of Mocksville, NC and her Brother, Gerry Compton (Debbie) of Yadkinville, NC; Her most precious gifts-her grandchildren, Braylen, Emmalee, Eva and Avery Compton, Trevor Dutton, Weston, Riot and Emberlee Hurt and several beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life is planned for Sunday, January 7th, 2024, at 2pm at the Village of Tobaccoville Community Center, 4225 Tobaccoville Rd, Tobaccoville, NC 27050.
Any flowers should be sent to 1005 Laine Road, King, NC 27021 prior to Sunday's celebration.
