Regina Mae Giesecke, 94, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Ballinger, Texas.
Regina was born on November 3, 1930, in Moline, Illinois, to Richard Pilcher and Elvira (Gummerson) Pilcher. A fiercely intelligent and deeply principled woman, Regina began each day with the Wall Street Journal and held strong opinions on the world around her—always ready to challenge ideas and stand firm in her beliefs. She was known for her sharp mind, quick wit, and no-nonsense demeanor that some might have found intimidating, but those close to her knew her as a wonderfully generous, supportive, and loyal friend and family member.
Though her circle was small, it was close-knit and cherished. Regina loved deeply and lived authentically, never one to sugarcoat her thoughts, but always one to show up when it mattered most.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Elvira Pilcher; both of her husbands, Norman Edgar Drew and Herman Giesecke, Jr.; and her beloved granddaughter, Lauren Drew.
Regina is survived by her sons, Douglas Drew and Jeffrey Drew; her grandchildren, Allyson Drew, Jason Drew, Sarah Drew, and Megan Vogel; and her great-granddaughter, Charley Vogel. Her legacy continues through them—each touched by her strength, insight, and unwavering love.
A rosary will be held in her honor on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ballinger, Texas. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Father Hilary Ihedioha.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballinger in Regina’s honor.
Regina’s life was a testament to intellect, integrity, and enduring love. She will be dearly missed.
