A Joint Tribute to Colonel Reginald "Reggie" Jones and Mrs. Betty Jones
Partners in life, service, and quiet excellence.

Colonel Reginald "Reggie" Jones and Mrs. Betty Jones, devoted spouses for over five decades, are remembered together in honor of their shared life of service, integrity, and enduring partnership.

Mrs. Betty Jones passed away peacefully on March 18, 2023. Born in Alabama and raised in Columbus, Ohio, she served with distinction as a civilian employee of the United States Department of Defense. Her career was marked by professionalism, discretion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Mrs. Jones was deeply engaged in her community, volunteering at Grace Episcopal Church and local schools, and was known for her intellectual curiosity, gracious demeanor, and dedication to lifelong learning.

Colonel Reginald Jones departed this life on September 4, 2025. A native of Columbus, Georgia, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Tuskegee University and was commissioned into the United States Air Force, where he served with honor and distinction. His military career spanned numerous international assignments and earned him commendations including the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, and multiple Meritorious Service Medals. Colonel Jones was revered for his discipline, leadership, and steadfast devotion to duty.

The couple met during Colonel Jones's first assignment at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, and were united in marriage shortly thereafter. Together they raised two daughters, Celeste and Nancy, and embraced shared passions-attending theater and opera performances, traveling widely, and gathering often with lifelong friends around the dinner table. They encouraged each other to excel, living lives of quiet dignity and purposeful service.

Colonel and Mrs. Jones are survived by their daughters, Celeste and Nancy; their granddaughter, Chloe; and their son-in-law, David.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that acts of kindness be extended to caregivers and those who bear quiet burdens with grace.
