Reginald Kenneth Lane, known to most as "Reggie," was the second born child to Leretta Lane, on June 10, 1959, in Siler City, NC. He peacefully departed this life at his home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Reggie attended Chatham County Schools, and he graduated from Jordan Matthews High School in Siler City, with the class of 1979. Even from an early age, Reggie demonstrated a strong work ethic and a desire to learn new skills. He was known to work alongside some of the elder workmen of his community. As an adult, he often worked more than one job, taking considerable pride in the work he did. He was a dedicated and valued employee of Food Lion in Siler City for nearly 40 years. While employed at Food Lion, he later assumed the role of training new employees in his department.

At an early age, Reggie attended Corinth A.M.E Zion Church, Siler City, NC. He later became a member of Jordan Grove A.M.E Zion Church, Siler City. His Christian faith was something he greatly valued. He was never hesitant to tell people of his in trust and faith in God Almighty, no matter the circumstances.

May 14, 1996, was a special day. This was the day Reggie welcomed into the world his first and only child, a daughter named Alyssia Lane. Reggie was excited to let everyone know he had a daughter.

There are many notable things we will remember about Reggie. Some of which include: his gracious humility, willingness to help those in need, and love for his favorite teams, the Washington Commanders in football, and the North Carolina Tar Heels in basketball. Reggie always greeted those he knew with a friendly wave or hello, when they came to Food Lion. He also demonstrated persistent optimism, and he refused to complain, despite any challenges he faced.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, James Wagoner Lane and Lina Siler Lane, aunts Callie Bernice Reives, and Margaret Melissa Rieves, and his sister, whom he shared a special bond with, Sharon Joretta Lane.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Leretta Lane of Siler City, NC, daughter, Alyssia Lane of Austin, TX, three granddaughters, Natassia Lane, Haylo Lane, and Jorja Lane of Austin, TX, an aunt, Jennifer Matthews of Siler City, NC, and two nieces, Shantaye Jones of Mebane, NC, and Sade' Jones Harris (Travis) of Greensboro, NC, as well as host of other special cousins and friends.
