Reid Boswell Bishop Jr., 84, passed away at home on September 12, 2024, in Frankfort. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on April 3, 1940, to the late Reid Boswell Bishop Sr., and Willa Redmon Bishop.
Reid was a talented architect who retired from the State of Kentucky in the Department of Parks and the Division of Finance.
But he was so much more than that. He was a humble man & a trustworthy man who had a great sense of humor. He was a laid back & gentle soul. His love, loyalty and generosity to his family was never ending. Besides his sons, he was also a father figure to many others. He was a wonderful mentor to anyone he took under his wing, especially his sons. There wasn't anything he couldn't do if he set his mind to it & he willingly shared his knowledge with others.
Reid, nicknamed "RB" by his sister, "June" by his father and "Bish" by his grandchildren, was also called "Bishy Boy" by loved ones. His favorite color was orange and tie-dyed clothing. He loved pottery, Fiesta Ware & handmade items. He was an animal lover who was partial to Dobermans & Boxers. He loved the outdoors, especially water. He was a boater, a farmer, loved camping & vacationing in Holden Beach NC with his family, going to mom & pop style restaurants, car shows, boating events and Mopar events. Like his father and sons, he worshiped Dodge/Mopar vehicles, especially Power Wagons.
Reid was thoughtful, kind & never missed sending cards to loved ones on special occasions. He opened his home to everyone. He loved art, history, hats, anything Shaker, reading, good cigars, desserts, seafood. He happily remained somewhat of a hippie his entire life. He will be missed.
Surviving family include his sons, Keenan (Leslie) Bishop and Kevin (Lori) Bishop, both of Frankfort, his former wife, Freida Bishop, stepdaughter, Michelle (Rodney) Adams, stepson, Chris (Heather) Sutton, and grandchildren, Bailey (Grant) McDonald, Carley (Avery) Bishop Hyle, Quentin Bishop, Laryn Bishop, Eric Harrod, Haley Metts, Hannah Sutton and Ava Sutton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Betty Featherston, and his first wife, Barbara Ann Waits Bishop.
A Celebration Of Life will be enjoyed by family and friends at a date to be announced. www.clarklegacycenter.com

Enjoyed clogging classes with Reid And Freida. I still have the beautiful hand drawn Christmas cards they sent. I´m sure you will miss his kind spirit.
