Reinhard C Scheiderer of Marysville passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026 after a long, productive life at the age of 96.

He was one of 6 children born to Ernest and Bertha Scheiderer on October 10, 1929.

His early years were consumed by helping run the family farm near Unionville Center. In his teens, he and his brothers took over the day-to-day operations of the farm after his father Ernest passed. He joined the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Newfoundland. After his service to the country, he returned and worked briefly at OM Scotts before becoming a painting contractor for the remainder of his life. He personally rehabbed many properties in the Marysville area. He was a meticulous craftsman that literally could figure out anything. During that period, he was also an auxiliary policeman with Darby Township. He married Phyllis Jackson in 1955 and raised two sons, John and George. To those who knew him, he was one of the "hardest working men you would know". He retained that work ethic until his time of passing.

He was an avid snow skier well into his seventies. He passed the love of that sport onto his sons and grandchildren. He was also an avid arborist and had a huge affinity for walnut. In his later years, he repopulated the family farm with approximately 2000 trees.

He enjoyed woodworking in his shop and had a love for watching his grandchildren compete in sports, especially baseball.

He will be remembered as a soft-spoken man that provided for his family. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his sons John (Stephanie) Scheiderer and George (Barb) Scheiderer; grandchildren Nick (Lauren), Gerhard, Gage, and Griffin; great grandchildren Cole, Jett, and Knox; brother Richard (Sue) Scheiderer; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis, on August 3, 2020; and siblings Ernestine Scheiderer, Robert Scheiderer, Lonnie (Dorothy) Scheiderer, and Elsie (Jack) Kleiber.
