Maurice was born on January 27, 1938, in Salisbury, MO, the son of Henry and
Norma (Meyer) Scheiderer. He was a 1955 graduate of Salisbury High School.
Maurice was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Baxley on September 14, 1958,
at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, MO. He was a member of the
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, served on the Salisbury Township Board,
the USDA ASCS Board, Immanuel Lutheran Church Board, the local MFA board
and was a member of the Salisbury Lion's Club. As a teenager, Maurice worked at
Nagel's Service Station and then went on to work at Stamper Feed, J.F. Roling,
Morman's Feed, Woolston Brothers, and was a lifelong farmer from which he
retired. In addition to his love of farming, he also enjoyed family vacations and
taking cruises with good friends, helping Erin, his granddaughter with her show
pigs, attending the grandchildren's other activities and cheering on the Kansas
City Chiefs and Mizzou Tigers.
Maurice is survived by his two children, Gary (Lesa) Scheiderer of Salisbury, MO,
Janet (Whitney) of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren Chad (Michelle) Scheiderer of
Mexico, MO, Erin (Matt) Schreiner of Salisbury, MO, Austin (Kristin Stockhorst)
Scheiderer of Salisbury, MO; three great grandchildren, Aubury Schreiner, Taylor
Schreiner, Tate Scheiderer; one brother, Ron (Marilyn) Scheiderer of Salisbury,
MO; several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pat on October 29, 2020,
sister Carol Belshe, parents-in-law Viva Harrison and Edgar Baxley, brothers-in-law
Larry Baxley, Phil Baxley, Rick Langan, and Dale Belshe, and sister-in-law Judy
Baxley.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 11 am at the Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Salisbury, MO. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran
Cemetery in Salisbury, MO. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 am until
the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to the Larry's Warrior
Foundation or the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are under the
direction of Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury, MO.
