Allen Leroy Scheiderer

1944 - 2023

Allen Leroy "Al" Scheiderer, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Parkview Hospice Randallia.

Born January 5, 1944, in Huntington, Indiana, Al was the son of the late Fred A. and Melba Lee (Kraft) Scheiderer. He married Alice Jane "Janie" Schroeder on January 24, 1970; she survives in Fort Wayne. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran.

Al graduated from Decatur High School in Decatur, Indiana, attended Purdue Extension in Fort Wayne and graduated with an Associate Degree in Accounting from International Business School in Fort Wayne.

Al worked as a banker for twenty years at First State Bank of Decatur and another twenty years at Bank of Geneva. He and Janie lived most of their lives in Decatur, then moved to Geneva for thirteen years and eventually retired in Fort Wayne, close to children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of fifty-three years, Al is also survived by his daughter, Gail Erin (Craig) Marbach and his son, Patrick Allen (Jenny) Scheiderer; his grandchildren, Samuel (Caitlyn), Rowan, Laura, and Elizabeth Anglin, Andrew and Abigail Scheiderer; his great-granddaughter, Ruth Anglin, and his great-grandson, William Anglin; his step-grandchildren, Shana (Travis) Pepple, Brian Anglin, and Ash, Abigail and Katheryn Marbach; and step-great-grandchildren, Alex, Gavin and Emery Pepple. He is survived by two siblings, Glenda Inniger of Decatur, Indiana and Duane (Denise) Scheiderer of Van Wert, Ohio. He was preceded in death by sister, Madge Harman. At his request and by prearrangement, there will be no visitation or memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riley Children's Hospital or Donor's Choice.
