It is with great sorrow that we announce Rena Jane Carreiro, age 54, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. She was born on May 5, 1970 in Waterbury, daughter of Freda (Engle) Carreiro and the late Wesley Carreiro.
Rena was currently employed at Elements Solutions, Inc. as the Accounts Payable Manager for North America. She was recently a recipient of the 5C’s Role Model Award, for exemplifying collaborative behaviors and embracing diverse cultures. She was a lover of all animals and always had pets, mainly cats. Rena enjoyed travel and especially tropical vacations, warm sun and beaches of Caribbean islands. She was a social butterfly, striking up conversations with just about everyone; Rena will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature.
In addition to her mother, Freda of Oakville, Rena is survived by her sister, Cara Monterosso and her husband, Michael; her loving nieces and nephew, Melissa, Michaela, Michael Jr. and Caitlyn Monterosso; and her cherished cats, Tater and Flower.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 201 Meadow St., Naugatuck, CT. A Memorial Service will commence at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Pines Bridge Cemetery, 59 Old Turnpike Rd., Beacon Falls, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to Stratford Animal Rescue Society, PO Box 1371, Stratford, CT 06615.
