Rena Bea Stolhand

Rena Bea Stolhand, 98, of Meridian Idaho, died Friday, July 4th, 2025, at a local care center.

Rena was born March 30 1927, in Rupert Idaho, to Archie and Edna (Craw) Pipkin. She was the last of eight siblings. The family moved to Nampa in 1929. Rena attended schools in Nampa and then Henager Business College in Salt Lake City. Rena married Russell Stolhand in 1950 and they moved to Portland Oregon where she did secretarial work for a couple of years before son Scott and daughter Karen were born. They moved back to Boise in 1956, and after living in a few houses here in town, moved to a house on the Bench where they lived for the next 42 years to raise their family, which would later include another son, David. After Russell died, Rena moved to Meridian in 2002 to be closer to David and Shelly and her grandsons.

Rena found joy in raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a Cub Scout den mother and always in the audience for concerts and baseball games for her sons and grandsons. She loved to play cards with family and friends and to travel to places she had never seen. Rena was an active member of the LDS church and served in several positions.

She is survived by her children Scott (Carol Meli) of Boise; Karen Jordan of Meridian; David (Shelly Hiner) of Meridian; grandchildren Erin, Andrea, Ryan, Spencer and Ethan, great-granddaughter Shelby and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Raymond, Clyde, Herbert, and Burl, along with sisters Marjorie, Anna, and Glenda.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Bright Star Hobble Creek for the love and care they gave to Rena during her final months. We would also like to thank Sheila Larsen along with Brent and Ursula Tingey for their frequent visits that were so meaningful to Rena.

She is already greatly missed.
