Rene Elizabeth Woods Tignor, 74, of Virginia, passed away on February 22, 2026. Born on January 8, 1952, Rene was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took immense pride in her family. She cherished sharing stories of their accomplishments and celebrating their successes.

A proud graduate of Tidewater Community College and Virginia Wesleyan College, Rene earned her Associate of Applied Science in Accounting and her Bachelor of Arts degree. Her dedication to her education earned her placement on the Dean's List and the distinction of graduating with honors.

Rene was an accomplished professional who held several positions in the insurance and accounting industries. Her competency, determination, and strong work ethic led to numerous opportunities for advancement throughout her career.

Her accomplishments extended far beyond her professional life. Rene served as a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, was a licensed private pilot, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and proudly served as a Navy Ombudsman in Rota, Spain.

Rene is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Tignor; her children, Bryan Lucas (Theresa), Stacey Workman, Tiffany Reid, Jeff Tignor, Troy Woodall, and Eric Woodall; her grandchildren, Mason, Jackson, Lucille, Jax, Lillian, Delaney, Landon, Parker, and Adrianna; and her sisters, Linda Dillon (Mike), Kathy Mindrum (Jeff), and Laura Nichols (Tom).

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Woods and Anne Wylie; her sister, Debbie Woods; her son, Wayne Lucas; her niece, Adria Mindrum; and her son-in-law, Jason Workman.

Rene's warmth, strength, and generous spirit will be deeply missed. Her legacy of service, dedication, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown, Bayside Chapel on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 5-8PM. A funeral service will be held at Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bayside Chapel, 1457 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23455. Following the service, a graveside committal will take place beginning at 1PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502.
