Renee' (Pastorek) Besson was born in Houston on September 4, 1952 and passed away at the age of 72 on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Houston Hospice. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy and her parents, Ralph and Jeanne Pastorek. Jimmy left this earth too soon but their marriage produced her sweet children, Coco and Dustin. Renee' grew up during the 60s and to her it was a time of great music, great friends, a great love and great adventures. She raised two thoughtful and loving children and along the way worked hard and gathered many friends. Renee' had the greenest thumb in Houston, loved good music of almost any kind, could make a mean pie crust from scratch and was a great storyteller. Ninfa's was her favorite place to enjoy a good margarita and for Renee', the Texans could (usually) do no wrong. Renee' loved her family and was very proud of her family's deep Texas and Louisiana roots. But the best way to describe Renee' comes from a quote from a close relative who said "she seemed so mysterious and so sophisticated, and well, cool."
Renee' Besson is survived by a big extended family including her daughter CoCo Janee Besson (Duncan) Gaffney and son Dustin James (Rosie) Besson and her three grandchildren Shealund, Breyana and Makayla Gaffney, her sisters Michele (Bob) Schmitz and Gabrielle (Jimmy) Axley and close cousin Terrell (Jimmie) Bradshaw, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Carol (Keith) Wingfield and brother-in-law Tommy (Beth) Besson and their families, and the extended Louisiana family.
Renee' leaves a legacy of love, humor, strength and fairness and she is now free of struggles and safe in the arms of Jimmy, her parents and her beloved Granny.
