Renee Correll Obituary
Renee Calhoun Correll, 69, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home, on September 11, 2024, after being diagnosed with ALS in February, 2023. She was born July 21, 1955, in Gaston County, to Katherine Lee Calhoun and the late Claude Lovelace Calhoun.
She is preceded in death by her father; brother, Rodney Calhoun.
Renee was a longtime member at Firestone Wesleyan Church in Gastonia, North Carolina. She retired from Duke Energy after 30 years of service. Renee loved going to the beach and playing golf. Her kids and her grandkids were the love of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Brad Correll (Julie); daughter, K.C. Correll (Tonya); mother, Katherine Lee Calhoun; brothers, Toby Calhoun (Kelly), and Todd Calhoun (Robin); grandsons, Westin, Nash, and Canon
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm at Firestone Wesleyan Church, Gastonia, on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Renee’s Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Don Avore officiating.
Inurnment will be with the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Firestone Wesleyan Church, 1700 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054 or to VIA Health Partners Hospice, 900 Donita Dr., Lincolnton, NC 28092.
