Renee Marie LeBon, 67, of Fox Island, WA went home to be with the Lord on July 6, 2025. She was at home with her husband of 41 years Michael (Mike) Gage.

Renee was born in Benton Harbor, MI and grew up in both Benton Harbor and Watervliet, MI. During her childhood, Renee and her family travelled and camped at many of the major National Parks as well as numerous campgrounds throughout Michigan which instilled a love for the beauty of the outdoors.

Following graduation from Watervliet High School in 1976, she attended Michigan State University where she earned a BS degree in business management in 1980.

After college, Renee moved to St. Louis, MO to work in retail management. There she met and married her husband, Mike, in 1984. Soon after, they moved to Atlanta, GA where she changed career paths and pursued her life-long passion of gardening and landscape design. She went back to college (University of Georgia) where she earned a BS degree in Landscape Architecture in 1996. Renee and Mike then relocated from Atlanta to The Woodlands, TX in 2000 where Renee was able to be closer to family and could help in the care of her aging parents. There she founded her own landscape design business (Renee LeBon Designs). This led to a successful career where she passionately helped clients design and implement their landscape dreams making the world a more beautiful place. She also designed projects for several churches in The Woodlands, TX area.

In 2015, Renee and Mike moved from Texas to Fox Island, WA to begin their retirement. In both Texas and in Washington, she was very active in church life, hosted Bible study small groups in her home, and attended many Bible studies where she formed many close friendships. During covid, she co-founded a church start-up on Fox Island where she ministered to many others and friends.

Renee had an empathetic and compassionate heart, investing her time, energy, and emotions in the lives of so many people. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with and considered everyone her friend. She had a love and talent for art, in which she produced many paintings, sewing which she used to make ruanas and hats for donating to cancer patients, and the photography of beautiful landscapes and sunsets.

Renee was preceded in death by her father (Victor G. LeBon), mother (Caroline LeBon), and her brother (Vic LeBon). She leaves behind her husband Mike Gage, sisters Gayle LeBon (Paul Sonnemann) of The Woodlands, TX, and Linda LeBon-Chrislip (Larry Chrislip) of Grand Prairie, TX, as well as several much-loved cousins.

A special thanks to Renee's close friends that supported her and were constantly by her side over the last several months, and to the staff at Franciscan Hospice for their compassionate care.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at some point in the future.

Mike,
Words can´t express how sad I was to hear of Renee´s passing. I was just thinking of the two of you as I was working on tidying up the island on Taper Glow and uncovering all the rock the two of you put in place. Renee really created a lot of beautiful landscapes as well as being a wonderful person. There is so much of her work on our street which will always be a reminder of her. You two were always such a great couple. I´m so sorry for your loss. Please take care. We´ve missed you on our street! Lots of love! Kim and Scott Kahney
