Renee L. Mitchell, from Portland, passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on July 20, 1964, to Frank and Sylvia "Silk" Mitchell, Renee grew up surrounded by love, family, and an unyielding determination that defined her life.
Renee lived life to the fullest and loved fiercely. She was a protector, a confidant, and the life of the party, always ready to have your back-whether you were right, wrong, or downright rotten. With a heart as big as her personality, she remained compassionate even when the world showed her its harshest side. Renee acted as though she was 6 feet tall and bullet proof.
She found joy in cooking family meals, playing dice and cribbage, and soaking up the sun and her cats. Renee loved celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas, cookouts, and watching fireworks light up the sky. Playing Gin Rummy with her mom and sisters was a treasured pastime, and she was happiest surrounded by family and friends.
If anyone can shake things up in heaven, it's Renee. She will undoubtedly bring her feisty spirit, boundless love, and a little bit of hell to paradise.
Renee was predeceased by her beloved parents; her sisters, Melody, Kimmy, and Kathy; her brother Mike; her cherished grandson Brody Leavitt; and her nephews, "Bubby" Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, and Aaron Mitchell.
She is survived by her children, Talisha Mitchell and Dicky Mitchell; her adored "grandbabies," Gabrielle McAlister, Jacob Mitchell, Paige Mitchell, Destiny Geisenger, and Rob Didonato; her sister Cindy; her brothers Steve and Franky; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever remember her fiery spirit and unwavering love.
A memorial service to honor Renee's life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005.
