Renee Petersen, 69, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on November 12, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on April 12, 1956, in Omaha to Patricia (Egan) Dettmer and Thomas Egan. Renee graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1975.

Renee married the love of her life, Lawrence "Spook" Petersen. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage. She worked faithfully for 20 years at Caniglia's. Later she spent 20 years as a supervisor at Tobacco Hut, where she was known for her dedication, strength, and unwavering work ethic.

Renee was preceded in death by her father Thomas Egan, her mother Patricia (Egan) Dettmer, her brother Thomas Egan III, her brother in law Glenn and her great-granddaughter Selena Moreno.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence "Spook" Petersen; her children, Son Lawrence "Toro" Petersen (Taylor), Daughter LaShawntea Ray (Jon). Siblings Debi(Mike),Linda(Bob),Peggy, Denise, Beth(Michael "Casey"),Marilyn(Doug),and Roni. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Caine (Heather), Payton, Payge (Seneca), Jonathan(LJ), and Lincoln. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Renee will be remembered for her loving heart, her loyalty to family, and the deep impact she made on everyone blessed to know her.
