Funeral service for Renee Smith, age 56 of Dike, Texas will be held at 2:00P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Walt Gamblin officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery with Calvin Brey, Andy Brey, Colby Walker, Steven Smith, Cash Gamblin, and Sam Gamblin serving as pallbearers and Cross Brey, Braxton Brey, Thomas Brey, Asher Brey, Toby Armstrong, Rodney Maddox, Dylynn Carpenter, Connor Atkins, Adam Kennon, and Chandler Atkins serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Smith passed away on December 24, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.

Renee was born on June 8, 1969 in Dallas, Texas to Roger Ebb and Mary Ann (Richardson) Chandler. She went on to have four children of her own, Carie, Amanda, Calvin, and Andy. In 1996 Renee met and married David Smith. The two of them were married for 29 years. She was a proud employee and co-worker of Bell Concrete and adored Walt and Jessica Gamblin.

Renee was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, love, and support for her family and her community. She truly knew that it is more of a blessing to give than to receive. Her generosity knew no bounds. Renee was an amazing Grandma/Mammy. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Throughout her life, Renee would turn to the bible verse Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Although Renee is gone, she will live in our hearts and memories forever.

She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Carie Renee Overstreet and husband, Bubba, Amanda Rose Walker and husband, Cole; sons, Calvin Paul Brey and wife, Megan, and Ronald Eb Andrew Brey and wife, Tiffany; beloved grandbabies, Colby and Callie Walker, Cross and Maggie Brey, Kamryn, Hazel, Braxton, Thomas, and Asher Brey; mother, Maryann; sisters, Kim Walker and husband, Harvey, Brandy Atkins and Echo Chandler; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; mother-in-law Ann Smith and brother-in-law, Steven Smith.

Renee was preceded in death by her father, Roger; brother, Lanny Ferrell; grandparents; father-in-law, James Smith and brother-in-law, Jim Atkins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St Judes Research.
