Memorial services for Mrs. Karen Renee Swain will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie, with Reverend Ervin Goodman officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Swain, 74, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 28, 2025, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Renee was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved writing and making candy at Christmas time. She never met a stranger, and no one ever forgot her once they met. She was a great prankster. Renee loved Jesus and took refuge in her daily prayers. She was a comfort to everyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Norris Swain; her father, Roy Erickson, Jr,; and her mother, Dorothy Stevenson.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Josh McDaniel (Brittany); one daughter, Laurie Soileau; one stepdaughter, CG Harper (Paul); six brothers, Mack Evans, Jerry Evans, Kenny Erickson, Hans "Corky" Erickson, David Erickson, and Terry Brasher; five sisters, Melanie Evans, Missy Evans Elliott, Judie Erickson Koenig, Nancy Erickson Summers, and Paula Erickson Cooper; five grandsons, Luke Soileau, Ethan McDaniel, Archer McDaniel, Bridger McDaniel, and Preston Harper; five granddaughters, Julia Guillory, Justine Harper, Audrey Harper-Gwaltney, Abby Soileau, and Sarah Soileau; two great grandsons, Wade Guillory and Woodland Ray Harper; and one great granddaughter, Leia Renee Soileau.
A time of visitation will be in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 12:00 noon until time of service.
