Renee Loretta Moorer Whye, affectionately known as "Dutches,
" passed away at the age of 55,
leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and unshakable joy. Born on July 22, 1969, in
Camden, NJ, Renee was the beloved daughter of Ira Lewis Moorer and Loretta Green-Moorer.
She was a beacon of light, known for her intelligence, education, and high-spirited nature that
lifted the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Renee had an extraordinary gift for making everyone around her feel valued and encouraged.
She never allowed anyone to dwell in sadness, always offering uplifting words and a warm
presence. Her famous saying, borrowed from Frederick Douglass, was,
"It is easier to build
strong children than to repair broken men.
" She lived by these words, dedicating her life to
inspiring and strengthening those around her.
An accomplished scholar, she graduated from Camden High School in 1988. Renee then
earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication at Rowan University and later pursued her
passion for mental health by obtaining a Master's degree in "Mental Health and Wellness with
an Emphasis on Grief and Bereavement" at Grand Canyon University. Through her work, she
touched countless lives, bringing comfort and understanding to those navigating difficult times.
Every space she entered was instantly brighter, her laughter and spirit always filling the room
with warmth and joy. She had an infectious energy that lingered long after she left, her presence
was felt in every corner of the lives she touched.
Renee was deeply devoted to her family, leaving behind her loving husband, Darnell Whye; her
cherished children, Kiara, Joseph, and David, son in love Ivin Davis, her bonus children Winfield,
Darnell Jr. and Tiana, her royal grandchildren, Ivin, Isaac, and Kaila, She also leaves behind her
two nieces Irannye Moorer and Clara Moorer and her nephew Jakeel Moorer, her best-friend
Sandra Webb-Clark, a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, a host of cousins, friends. She
adored her children Kiara, Joseph and David beyond measure, pouring boundless love,
wisdom, and encouragement into their lives. She instilled in them the values of kindness,
strength, and perseverance, always reminding them that they were capable of achieving
anything they set their minds to. Her pride in them was immeasurable, and she celebrated every
accomplishment, big or small, with joy and enthusiasm, whose lives she profoundly impacted.
Her home was a haven of warmth and love, where laughter echoed, and memories were made.
Renee had a way of making everyone feel special, always extending her heart and hands to
those in need. She found joy in the simple moments-sharing a meal, offering a kind word, or
simply being present for those she loved.
To know Renee was to know joy, resilience, and unconditional love. She had the rare ability to
turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. Even in silence, her presence spoke
volumes-her laughter echoing in the walls of our hearts, her wisdom guiding us through the
darkest of days. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the
countless lives she has touched. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that her light
will never fade, and her love will forever guide us.
Rest peacefully, dear Renee. Your presence was a gift, your love remains eternal, and your
spirit will forever linger in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known yo
