Reta Frances Hamlett, age 82, of Garland passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in Richardson. Frances was born July 8, 1942 in Houston to parents, Byron Moses Moore and Reta Hautense loftin Moore. She was a Special Ed teacher for almost 30 years at Lamar CISD.
Frances is survived by children, Linda Hermann and husband, John of Garland, Dawn Evans and husband, Mark of San Antonio, John Hamlett and wife, Ashley of Spring, Moses Hamlett of Richardson; grandchildren, Ashley Poteet and husband, Sam Grossenbacher of Hallsville, Amy Hermann of Garland, Thomas Hermann of Garland, Madison Hamlett of Spring, David Hamlett of Houston, Andrew Hamlett of Spring; brothers, Byron Moore and wife, Judy of Tyler, Mark Moore of Grapeland; sister, Rebecca Moore of San Antonio; numerous other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, John R. Hamlett; parents, Byron Moses Moore and wife, Esteene, Reta Poteet and husband, Joe; brother, Jimmy Poteet.
Funeral services for Reta Frances Hamlett will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, May 26, 2024 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Augusta Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
