Reta Kathryn McCormick

Reta Kathryn McCormick, born on June 18, 1923, in Ferris, Texas, peacefully passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 101. She was the cherished daughter of Odis Alexander Witherspoon and Myrtle Alice Hall and spent her formative years in Ferris, Texas, where she attended and graduated from Ferris High School.
Kathryn married her beloved husband, William Randel McCormick, on December 24, 1941, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Kathryn was a dedicated member of the Rebekah Lodge of the IOOF Lodge in Corsicana and a faithful member of the Midlothian Church of Christ.
Her warmth and devotion to her family were evident in the many lives she touched. She is survived by her son, Randel Dwight McCormick; her daughter, Reta Kay Crowe and husband Pat; and her grandchildren, Melissa Kay Crowe, Mark Aaron Coker, Stefanie Wilson, Cris Crowe, and Denise Marshall, several great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Randel McCormick, her sisters Loree Morgan and Dorothy Southerland, and her brother Aaron Witherspoon. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Visiting Angels of Corsicana, Bristol Hospice Pathways, and the IOOF and Rebekah's Retirement Center staff and residents for their constant support and care.
Kathryn was laid to rest on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Midlothian Cemetery.
