Reuben Eugene Bond, 77, passed away on March 23, 2023, at UNC Health Blue Ridge in Morganton, NC.
Reuben was born on September 22, 1945, to Eugene and Ethel Mae Bond. He completed his Master’s in Business Administration. Reuben served our country in the United States Navy for 5 years before leading a career as a manager in the textile industry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a true lover of the outdoors.
Reuben is survived by his wife, Mabel Turner Bond, of the home. He is also survived by his son, James (Jennifer) Bond of Lubbock, Texas, daughters, Cherie Lee (Tommy) Rayle of Oak Island, NC, and Patti Lynn Dunlap of Greensboro, NC. In addition, Reuben is survived by his grandchildren: James Austin Bond, Chelsea Rayle, Taylor Rayle, Carmen Dunlap, and Tanner Dunlap, along with numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Reuben is survived by his brothers, Larry (Frieda) Bond, David (Pearl) Bond, Freddy (Michelle) Bond, and his brother-in-law, Joe Hicks.
Mr. Bond is preceded in death by his late wife, Judy Reedy Bond, his parents, and his sister, Caroline Hicks.
A public visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, from 12:30-1:30pm at Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman, 600 S. Main St. Randleman, NC 27317. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel Mausoleum at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 N. Fayetteville St. Asheboro, NC 27203 with Pastor Dennis Love officiating.
