Rev. David E. Harmon, age 89, of Plain Township, passed into the arms of his loving Savior on Thursday, August 1, 2024. He was born on August 25, 1934 to the late William and Mary Harmon. He graduated from Lehman High School, attended Akron University and graduated valedictorian from Akron Bible Institute. In 1970, he became an Associate Pastor at the Canton Baptist Temple where he served 44 years, with a caring, compassionate love for others.
Rev. Harmon was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Harmon; brothers-in-law, Jack Wilson and Jack Barnard. David is survived by his beautiful wife of 69 years, Kay Jean Harmon, daughter and son-in-law, Tori and Mike Burnell, granddaughters, Rachel and Mitch Hogue; Shannon and Nick Goodwin; Katie and Keith Sanders; Emily and Logan Porter; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Logan Hogue; Jasen Goodwin; Walker Sanders and Lainey Porter; sister, Deloris Barnard; sisters-in-law, Patricia Wilson, Stormy and Jim Pappas.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Canton Baptist Temple Main Auditorium with Dr. Mike Frazier and Rev. Delaney Young officiating with no calling beforehand. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the service. Private burial with family.
